Q: What exactly is Personal Training?

A: Personal Training is a way of exercising where a client works directly with an experienced fitness professional to achieve a variety of individual goals which often include weight loss, body sculpting, increased strength and better overall health. The trainer provides constant instruction and motivation to the client for the entire duration of each training session (usually about 45-50 minutes).  Personal Training is the fastest way to achieve lasting results from exercise because it is safe, precise, efficient and focused – there is no wasted time or energy.

Q: Why can’t I just exercise by myself at home or at the gym?

A: Probably the simplest reason is illustrated by these statistics: Over 92% of people who own exercise equipment and 88% of people with gym memberships DO NOT EXERCISE.  The sad truth of human nature is that when we are left to our own devices, most of us cannot seem to find the time, energy or motivation to exercise on a regular basis.  Even for those who do find the time, knowing what exercises actually work – not to mention how to do them properly and safely- can be nearly impossible.

Q: What kinds of people do you train?

A: Personal training is no longer just for the rich and famous. We train people of all ages, backgrounds, and fitness levels. Our clients have one simple thing in common: a desire to change and a willingness to enlist the expertise of professionals to do it.

The reasons people train are as varied as the clients we serve. For example, some clients come to us with 30, 40, 50 pounds or more to lose while others are already conditioned and fit, but want to increase muscle tone and definition. Many “Baby Boomers” are discovering that personal training is a valuable tool in anti-aging, and in maintaining their health and vigor. Young athletes are using personal training to increase sports specific strength, agility, and dexterity while brides-to-be are seeking to just fit into that dream dress on their special day.

Whatever your goals, we can help you not just reach them, but reach beyond them in ways you never thought possible.

Q: What is your facility like? I’m not crazy about gyms.

A: Body by Design Studio is a "private" facility where an appointment is required for you to workout. A personal trainer guides you through every workout to assure safety as well as results. We even make it fun along the way! Here, you’ll find no crowds, no unwelcome stares, and nothing to make you feel self-conscious. Our facility is new, spotless and completely state-of-the-art.  There are no memberships or contracts either - just buy the number of sessions you wish to use and watch your dreams become reality.

Q: How much time does it take to train?

A: The answer to this question often surprises people. The typical client will train two or three times per week for approximately 50 minutes during each appointment – That really is all the time it takes, even for the serious athlete.  For optimum results, most clients will also need to do about 25 minutes of cardiovascular exercise three times (or more) per week. When you train right, you don’t need to spend all of your spare time training!

Q: When will I start to see results?

A: If you are diligent and don’t miss your appointments, you will start to feel results within 2 weeks and see definite results in a month or less.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: Clients pay on average about $500 per month to train here.  The actual price depends on how many times you train per week and how many sessions you are willing to commit to.

Fitness training is purchased in packages consisting of a particular number of sessions. The more sessions purchased the greater the value, and missed sessions do not usually expire.  We offer a payment plan so that all packages are billed on a monthly basis free of finance charges or interest.

We accept cash, check, Visa, MasterCard and automatic bank account debit.

Q: What kinds of exercise will we do?

A: Our philosophy at Body by Design Studio is total fitness through strength training – that means we train primarily by lifting weights. We also do cardiovascular training which provides additional help in controlling weight, increasing energy, and in training for specific kinds of athletic events. We always structure individual training programs around your specific goals.

Q: I’m a beginner, is personal training for me too?

A: Absolutely! We have many clients who are completely new to exercise and who have over time lapsed into a sedentary lifestyle.  We will design a training program personalized specifically for you and based on your current fitness level as well as your goals. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced, conditioned athlete, we will tailor a program just for you.

We don’t just supervise your workout, but we educate you about the principles involved  so that when you’re ready, you can maintain a sound physical exercise and nutrition program on your own—for life!
